About our Guest Lecturer

The Rev. Meredith Ward is a priest in the Diocese of New York, having been recently ordained on September 19th at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. She currently serves at The Church of the Ascension, Manhattan. Prior to her ordination, Mother Ward spent her career working in the New York art world as a gallery director. In 2004, she opened her own gallery, Meredith Ward Fine Art specializing in 19th and 20th century American art, which she continues to operate on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. She has placed important works in museums and private collections around the country. She received a B.A. in Art History and French from Tufts University, an M.A. in Art History from Columbia University, and an M.Div. from Episcopal Divinity School at Union Theological Seminary. In addition to her pastoral ministries, Mother Ward is particularly interested in the intersection of art and spirituality and the ways in which art can be used as a medium for spiritual study, prayer, and contemplation.
