Fr Angus Ritchie has ministered in parishes involved in community organizing in east London for over 25 years, playing a leading role in campaigns for a Living Wage and affordable housing. He is the founding director of the ecumenical Centre for Theology and Community. The Centre helps congregations ground their community organizing in prayer and theological reflection — and to harness its potential for congregational renewal, the formation of missionary disciples, and action for social justice. Fr Angus’ latest book, Inclusive Populism: Creating Citizens in the Global Age (University of Notre Dame, 2019) was cited by Pope Francis as an expression of his vision of “a politics of fraternity, rooted in the lives of the people”.
