Inge Reist

[sdg-pt] post_id: 365603

Inge has been a parishioner at Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue since 2004 and served on the Vestry from 2012 to 2017, chairing the building committee and choir school committees during those years. Inge and her husband Rob Freeman were married by Father Mead in 2013. For Inge, the mission of Saint Thomas and its service to the community resonates with her earlier experiences as a leading member of the parent committee of The Buckley School, parent association of Phillips Academy Andover, and board member of the LCU Foundation. An art historian by training, Inge has also presented several lectures about the building and the art in the Church. Holding a Ph. D. from Columbia University, her career has largely been at the Frick Collection and Frick Art Reference Library, serving as Chief of Research Collections and Programs, Head of the Photoarchive, and founding Director of the Center for the History of Collecting. She has published widely on subjects of the history of collecting and Italian Renaissance and Baroque art. Inge has served on many academic and not-for-profit boards and, from 2006 to 2011 was Chair of the Association of Research Institutes in Art History.
