This course is taught by Father Patrick Cheng. A video of the second session is available above.

Over the course of five weeks, we will look at the biblical and liturgical texts of the “Our Father” prayer and examine its meaning for us today.

In the third class, we explored the scholarly debate over “ἐπιούσιον,” the mysterious word that is usually translated as “daily” but that appears nowhere else in the corpus of Greek literature. We also explored why different translations of the prayer use different words such as “trespasses,” “debts,” and “sins.”

Please feel free to share the above link with any others who might be interested. All are welcome to join us for suture classes. If you are a first-timer, please RSVP by clicking here. If you would like more information about this class, please email Fr. Cheng.
