The Sixth Sunday After Pentecost

The Sixth Sunday After Pentecost

Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, who knowest our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion, we beseech thee, upon our infirmities, and those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask, mercifully give us for the worthiness of thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. (Proper 11)

Today at 10 a.m., the Sunday class continues its study of the Epistle to the Colossians. In the third chapter of the letter, St. Paul addresses what it means to put on a new life in Christ. He admonishes them to “let the peace of Christ rule” in their hearts, and be reflected in their behavior. Looking forward, the class on July 23 comes to the end of the epistle, as Paul summarizes the letter and urges the Colossians, and their neighbors, to continue their study of, and obedience to, the gospel. Both classes meet on the fifth floor.
