32@32, created by pianist Adam Golka on the occasion of Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday celebration, is an 8-concert series surveying the master’s complete Piano Sonatas. The free concerts offer a comprehensive journey through the composer’s most prolific musical form, spanning 27 years of groundbreaking creation and his triumph over hearing loss, and Adam Golka’s performances of the cycle will be juxtaposed with 32 short films exploring the relevance of each of Beethoven’s masterpieces to our modern existence. In collaboration with filmmaker Zac Nicholson, audiences will witness Adam’s video conversations with a plethora of special guests, among them musical legends, visual artists, literary scholars, spiritual teachers, as well as an ear surgeon, an astrophysicist, and even a child.
