The Last Sunday after Pentecost: Christ the King

The Last Sunday after Pentecost: Christ the King

Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in thy well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. (Proper 29)

The Sunday class on Ezekiel has encountered many theological topics. On November 15, for instance, there was the surprising discovery that Ezekiel had a wife, whom he loved, whom the Lord “took.” So a conversation about death ensued and the Lord’s place in granting the meaning of human life and history. The class will continue through Advent with the prophecies against the nations (ch. 25-32). Newcomers are welcome.
