All Saints’ Day
Almighty God, who hast knit together thine elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystical body of thy Son Christ our Lord: Give us grace so to follow thy blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living, that we may come to those ineffable joys that thou hast prepared for those who unfeignedly love thee; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee and the Holy Spirit liveth and reigneth, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

Immediately following the 5:30pm Festal Eucharist for All Saints’ Day, the Very Rev’d Robert Willis, Dean of Canterbury, gives a talk on Canterbury Cathedral. The talk takes place in the Church with a reception following in Andrew Hall.
The Cathedral’s history goes back to 597AD when St Augustine, sent by Pope Gregory the Great as a missionary, established his seat (or ‘Cathedra’) in Canterbury. In 1170 Archbishop Thomas Becket was murdered in the Cathedral and ever since, the Cathedral has attracted thousands of pilgrims, as told famously in Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.
The mission of Canterbury Cathedral is a simple and powerful four-word objective: ‘to show people Jesus.’
The presentation is free and open to everyone.
