This class looks at key chapters of Herbert McCabe’s God Matters on basic questions of creation, freedom, evil and God’s involvement with the world.

Tonight’s class takes up the first question, that of creation, and more specifically the radical question posed by creation: why does anything exist at all? This question points to the existence of God. And while it leaves us completely in the dark about God’s nature, we nonetheless can figure out a lot of things that God cannot be. If you want, you can read chapter 1 of Herbert McCabe’s God Matters for insights.
