Tuesday In Holy Week
Tuesday In Holy Week
O God, by the passion of thy blessed Son didst make an instrument of shameful death to be unto us the means of life: Grant us so to glory in the cross of Christ, that we may gladly suffer shame and loss for the sake of thy Son our Savior Jesus Christ; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Each month, the 30s-40s Fellowship gathers for dinner followed by a discussion on a chosen topic. This is an excellent way for newcomers to meet parishioners. This is not a singles group (some of our regulars are married with children), but rather a gathering of adults who want to grow in Christian friendship as they go through the change (and hopefully clarity!) that often comes as one approaches and begins to work through the middle years of life.
Each month, the discussion is led by a different person. This month, our leader is Fr Joel Daniels, which continues a trend this year of our getting to know the members of the clergy and staff a bit better. Fr Daniels is a St Thomasite through-and-though. One day years ago, he walked into our church doors right off the street, just like so many others do each day. He decided to stay for a 12:10 mass in the Chantry. Then he decided to come back, then stayed, then became an Episcopalian, and then heard the call and, in due course, became a priest. He is currently working on his doctorate at Boston University. We’re thrilled that Fr Daniels is able to join us for our Holy Week gathering.
Because we neither want to over-spend nor under-prepare, we ask that you RSVP at least five days in advance. And because we are entirely a self-sustaining group (we receive no church subsidy whatsoever, other than the use of space), the cost of each dinner is $25 per person. The entire amount collected is used to pay the cost of the food, drinks and labor for that night’s gathering.
We hope you can join us!
